Vidhi Maharashtra’s Briefing Book Launch & Panel Discussion: Legal Reforms for a Modern Maharastra

The Vidhi Centre for Legal Policy invites you to the launch of its Maharashtra State office and the release of its Briefing Book followed by a Panel Discussion to be held on Tuesday, 29 June 2021 at 5.30 pm. Dr. Vijay Kelkar, Former Finance Secretary and Chairman, Thirteenth Finance Commission, will launch the Briefing Book.

Vidhi Maharashtra

Maharashtra is the second most populated state in the country and the largest contributor to the country’s GDP. Keeping in mind the state’s important position, the need for a conversation on legal reform in the State is imperative. Further, the COVID-19 pandemic has underlined the key role of the State Government in India’s constitutional set up. With this vision, as its first initiative, Vidhi Maharashtra is launching a Briefing Book on Fifteen Suggested Legal Reforms for Maharashtra.

In 2021, we focus on the core areas that were affected by the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic. It has taught us the importance of our community and systems and how they might be enhanced to deal with similar situations in the future. The reforms suggested in the Briefing Book thus focus on how we as a community can learn from the pandemic and strengthen systems for the citizens of Maharashtra.
