National Institute of Advanced Studies (NIAS) was conceived and founded in 1988 by the late Mr. J. R. D. Tata, who sought to create an institution to conduct advanced multidisciplinary research. Housed in a picturesque green campus in Bangalore the Institute serves as a forum to bring together individuals from diverse intellectual backgrounds, in the natural and life sciences, humanities, social sciences, and conflict and security studies. The philosophy underlying NIAS is given shape by its multidisciplinary research teams. The Institute is unique in its integrated approach to the study of intersections between science and technology, philosophy, social issues and leadership. The objective is to nurture a broad base of scholars, managers and leaders who would respond to the complex challenges that face contemporary India and global society, with insight, sensitivity, confidence and dedication. The project on education for the gifted and talented (http://www.prodigy.net.in ) started in the year 2011, is currently planning to establish school partnership projects to address the needs of the gifted and talented in the age group 10-16 years in line with NEP 2020. The project aims to develop a rubric to capture and monitor the learning of the gifted children over the period of three years. The project team will develop and conduct comprehensive assessment of these children over this period.  The program is looking for three project associates to work primarily on education for the gifted and talented and other related activities in the education program.

Project Associates are expected to be motivated with a deep interest in research and a high degree of competence in one or more of three skills: secondary and survey data analysis, qualitative fieldwork, and editing and writing reports.

Qualifications

  • Should have a Master’s degree in education/psychology/sociology or related field and a deep interest in education.
