Context
India faces a significant burden of eye diseases and vision impairment, with an estimated 62 million people in the country suffering from some form of visual impairment. Cataract, refractive errors, glaucoma, and corneal blindness are the leading causes of blindness in India. While India has made strides in addressing blindness through initiatives such as the National Program for Control of Blindness and Visual Impairment, there are still significant barriers to accessing eye care in the country, particularly in rural areas. These barriers include a lack of trained eye care professionals, inadequate infrastructure, and limited awareness about eye health. In this environment, there is a clear need for a concerted effort by Eye-care organizations, NGOs and funders to push towards achieving the goal of zero cases of avoidable blindness.
About the role:
Over the last few years, Shri Ganesh Vinayak Foundation has developed a robust program mechanism that can create long-term and meaningful impact while also focusing on the sustainability of the intervention. We have built strategic relationships with organizations that impact our interventions including Government Departments, Institutions and other like-minded organizations.
We have now shifted focus to long-term growth and program replication through sustained efforts in the fundraising domain. To this end, we have created a fundraising strategy that outlines our fundraising goals and activities while also identifying potential donors in the CSR and Institutional space. As we seek to scale our reach and impact over the next few years, there is a need to put in place a strong team that can implement the above strategy while also bringing their expertise.
The “Manager, Resource Mobilization” will play a key role in enabling SGVF’s future growth by creating and expanding our donor network across donor categories and funding sources.
