The CII-ITC Centre of Excellence for Sustainable Development is a not-for-profit, industry- led institution that helps business become sustainable organizations. It is on a mission to propagate innovative ideas and solutions in India and globally, to enable business, and its stakeholders in sustainable value creation. CESD has leveraged its role of all- inclusive ecosystem player, partnering industry, government, and civil society. It has been a pioneer of environment management systems, biodiversity mapping, sustainability reporting, integrated reporting, and social & natural capital valuation in India, thus upgrading business in India to sustainable competitiveness.

Since its inception in the year 2006, the Centre has evolved with a tremendous trajectory, starting off with the incubation phase of introducing business services, right through augmenting manpower capacity in other cities since 2013, eventually scaling up to the highest rung of strengthening work on macro-economic issues with both domestic and global policy interventions.

Job responsibilities

• Planning and execution of CSR consulting assignments – Baseline, Needs Assessment and Impact Assessment Study
• Prepare data collection tools (questionnaire development) and write quality baseline and impact assessment reports
• Business development for CSR portfolio
• Promotion of CSR trainings and other events
• Field visit for CSR consulting assignments for data collection, monitoring and ensuring quantity and quality of work at the ground level
• Data management and documentation of projects
• Collaborating with various teams internally for work

Qualifications
Specific requirements include:

• Knowledge of development sector, rural community-based programs, Social Science Research, social problems in India, impact assessments and documentation of development projects
• At least 3-5 years of experience in social sector
• Research orientation
• Demonstrated success in delivering CSR consulting assignments
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills with exceptional attention to details
• Personal qualities of integrity, credibility, and a commitment to and passion for work
• Proficiency in MS Office with skills in making power point presentations and to work with excel sheets
• Understanding of local languages would be an asset

Areas of exposure/Work background:

Experience with CSR departments or Foundations, NGO/development sector, experience with rural community-based programs preferred.
