Reporting to Project Lead-SRHR &GBV

Contract Duration : 6 months ( Jan 2023 to 30th June 2023)
Travel : 50 % in the field
Level Of Contact With Children: 2 (Sporadic or occasional contact with children)

The position holder shall be responsible to adhere & work within the ambit of Plan India’s Safeguarding Children and Young People & Gender Equality Policies

SUMMARY OF THE OVERALL JOB
Project: Menstrual Equity in Telangana

The position will be responsible to implement the activities of Menstrual Equity Project in slums of Hyderabad project in a qualitative and timely manner, as per Plan India’s program standards and processes and in compliance with the donor requirements. The position will be responsible for implementation, monitoring and documentation of the project activities. The PC cum Trainer will work under the guidance of the Project Lead and work in coordination with accounts and admn departments

KEY FUNCTIONS / RESPONSIBILITIES
CAPACITY BUILDING & PROJECT IMPLEMENTATION

  • The job holder will be responsible for implementation of project under SRHR theme in Telangana in close coordination with Project Lead-SRHR & GBV
  • Ensure project activities are completed as per the timeline with Quality that
  •  Support SBVMs in planning and implementation of project activities in their allotted slums
  • To undertake rapid KAP study in operational slums
  • To develop session plans for trainings to the SBVMs and target group as per the need
  • To develop/customize/print quality IEC materials as per the need of project
  • To conduct awareness sessions for girls and young women on MHM in slums and schools
  • To organize intergenerational dialogues with women, men and other stakeholders on menstrual equity.
  • To ensure procurement and proper distribution of sanitation and hygiene kits
  • Roll out of the campaigns designed under the project as per the Social Behaviour Change
  • Strategy (SBCC) developed to increase the awareness among General Population on MHM
  • Ensure timely utilisation of funds by timely completion of project activities as per defined project timelines
  • Extend supportive supervision and mentoring guidance to SBVMs
  • Preparation and submission of activity and monthly reports as per stipulated timelines
  • Support in enhancing portfolio of Health/SRHR domain of Plan India
  • Undertake the additional/need based responsibilities as assigned by Line manage

LIASONING, MONITORING AND REPORTING

  • Interface with the block and district level officials and duty bearers
  • Get required approvals from the Officials for sessions and campaigns as per requirement
  • Organize programmes and meetings with key stake holders such as women, men, SHGs, other key opinion leaders as per project frame work
  • Preparation of resource directory to ensure referrals and linkages of vulnerable girls to various schemes and services.
  • Maintain liasoning and linkages with stakeholders and Govt. line departments like Health dept, NRHM, RKSK etc.
  • Ensure quality intervention and support SBVMs in collecting qualitative and quantitative evidences from the field as per the tools provided

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Post-Graduation. PG in Development studies will be preferred.
  •  5+ years of relevant experience. Programming experience on Health/community health would be an asset
  • Experience in organizing capacity building programmes and SBCC campaigns
  •  Proficient in Local language and willingness to travel
  • Experience in usage of computer/tablets for data collection and basic report preparation
  • Passionate to bring behaviour change among adolescents and community on health aspects
