Wipro Foundation represents the Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) initiatives of Wipro Limited. Going back over two decades, we focus on social initiatives in Education, Health, Ecology, and Disaster Response.

Wipro’s engagement with education and other social issues is deep and formed on the bedrock of long-term commitment. We believe that Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) have a critical role in addressing these issues and challenges. Wipro Foundation, thus, works in close partnerships with people and organizations, on a spectrum of issues in education, ecology, health care, disaster response and sustainability.

Since 2001, Wipro has been working on building capacities of CSOs engaged in school education to work towards different aspects of reforms in school education. We have supported hundreds of educational projects and initiatives since inception. We currently support a growing network of over 140 education organizations across 27 states and UTs – making us one of the most diverse networks of educational CSOs in the country.

Our support to our partner-organizations entails various components. We offer a diverse portfolio of learning opportunities through trainings and workshops on various educational and organizational themes. We provide multiple opportunities for cross learning as well, through periodic Regional and Thematic Meets and by facilitating participation in Communities of Practice

Role Description: We are looking for a Program Manager to join the core team of Wipro Foundation’s Education Program to further our engagement in developing a strong network of education CSOs across the country.

Responsibilities:

1. Outreach and Due Diligence:

a. Enhancing outreach and awareness about Wipro Foundation’s Education programs, especially in nonurban and underserved regions

b. Contributing to the selection process of new partner organizations and Fellows and supporting applicants during the shortlisting phase

2. Program Management and Capacity Enhancement of Partners:

a. Managing partnerships effectively, and with sensitivity, through field visits, calls, etc.

b. Understanding and analyzing partners’ capacity enhancement needs b. Helping organizations become effective in their chosen domain of work – especially in foundational literacy and/or numeracy, by direct engagement, as well as in collaboration with other Resource Organizations

c. Help organize events such as the Annual Partners’ Forum, thematic meets, workshops, training programs, etc.

3. Knowledge Management & Documentation:

a. Effectively documenting information, outcomes and learning pertaining to the program, including field visits, proceedings of meets and conferences, videos, reports, etc.

b. Contributing to the design, development, and implementation of a knowledge management framework

4. Liaising with Others:

a. Facilitate strategic tie-ups and partnerships with other organizations and agencies to further the program agenda

b. Identify and liaise with internal and external stakeholders and vendors as needed

5. Other Skills/Experiences:

a. Excellent English language skills; ability to read and converse in Hindi and/or any of the East/NorthEast Indian languages preferred

b. Experience of designing and developing or managing online courses and/or learning communities would be an added advantage

Candidate Profile: The individual should have a keen interest in the areas of school education, related social and developmental issues, and their intersections and linkages. They will be expected to play a proactive and critical role in fulfilling the responsibilities listed above towards further strengthening the education partners’ network.

Flexibility in approach, ability to handle ambiguity, taking on new responsibilities, and adopting a collaborative approach to work are traits that will help in the role, and in achieving long-term objectives. Additionally, the individual should have good networking and communication skills and be able to articulate the program goals and objectives to internal and external stakeholders.

Educational Qualification(s): The individual should ideally have a graduate or post-graduate degree in Education/Development or allied areas. However, individuals with degrees in other disciplines are also welcome to apply, if they have relevant experience.

Work Experience: Overall experience of 8-10 years with 4+ years in the Education domain. Previous experience of working as a teacher and/or in a corporate set-up/CSR team/philanthropic foundation is preferred.

Role Type: Full-time or part-time, with regular travel to locations within India.
