Alohomora Education Foundation has made it its mission to enable young people from underserved communities to make interest and strength aligned career choices. Our flagship product CareerShala.co takes students through a 5 step career decision making process. We support the design and implementation of Delhi Government’s Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum, and are leading the design of Deshke Mentor initiative, taking our program to 7+ lakh students across 1024 Delhi schools.. We are also collaborating with the District Administration of Jhajjar to lead Pratibha Manthan, a career exploration program for 20,000 students in Jhajjar.
1. Program Manager, CareerShala
At Alohomora, we believe every young person should have the opportunity to explore a diversity of careers and make a choice aligned to their strengths and interests. Career exploration and support should not be limited to privileged few. We are gearing up to take our program CareerShala to 10,000 young people from under-served communities across India over the next 3 years. And the person in this role will be an integral part of the team working towards this growth.

Broad Areas of Responsibility:
This is a dynamic role that will give you an opportunity to be close to young people (15-22 year olds) on the ground, enabling them to be on thriving career pathways. You will be responsible for end to end program implementation of our CareerShala program impacting ~600-1000 students in the first year and growing exponentially as we expand.
1) Enabling Student Learning:
Manage a team of 7-12 facilitators to execute our program with students as per design.
WhatsApp groups and personalized space for students as per need.

What we are looking for:
1. Excitement to work in the education space and work with adolescents & young adults
2. Graduate (in any stream) with at least 2 years of full time teaching/ fellowship experience OR post graduation in relevant fields with previous internships.
3. Evidence of initiative in your existing role and ability to work independently with minimal supervision. We want to see if you have the capacity to navigate uncertainty and a dynamic environment to achieve goals.
4. Detail orientation and capability to ensure adherence to processes
5. We want doers in our team. People who are meticulous and can sustain a high level of execution capacity for a long period of time.

2. Manager, Program Design
Alohomora Education Foundation has made it its mission to enable young people from underserved communities to make interest and strength aligned career choices. Our flagship product CareerShala.co has content with 100+ sector professionals and takes students through a 5 step career-decision making process. We plan to facilitate Career Shala with 10,000 students across India directly and take it to 10L+ students
through strategic partnerships.
We support the design and implementation of Delhi Government’s Entrepreneurship Mindset Curriculum and are leading the design of Desh ke Mentor initiative as well taking our learning and philosophy to 7+ lakh students across 1024 schools of Delhi government.
Our idea was recognized by World Bank Youth Summit 2016 as top 6 ideas globally for Rethinking Education. We have also been part of incubation programs like N/Core Tech, TFIx, Unltd India and are poised to scale rapidly.

What we are looking for:

2. Graduate (in any stream) with at least 2 years of full time experience OR post graduation in relevant fields with a track record of excellence in academics and co-curricular activities.

5. Technical aptitude – Comfort with google suite, design tools like canva and exploring new tech platforms like a website backend.

8. Collaboration- navigating cross-functional teams and people both internal and external stakeholders

Location: Delhi. Remote work is possible with expectation of frequent travel to locations where Alohomora’s programs are present.

3. Communications Associate
Alohomora Education Foundation has started on an ambitious journey to mainstream the need and process of career exploration for young people. We are building the ecosystem for every child to pursue their career of choice. We are poised to grow exponentially in the next three years to enable 1 million young people to make informed career decisions.
The role: We believe that the right communication is the engine of our growth, and holds immense potential to increase our impact. As AEF’s communications associate, you would be taking Alohomora’s story and mission to the world with an aim to popularise our CareerShala framework, maximise outreach, build networks, and raise funds – with an aim to get more people and supporters to connect with Alohomora’s mission and work. You will
also be assisting the team in creating material and resources or students, teachers, and other stakeholders we work with. This role is critical to take our vision to lakhs of young people across India and garner support for our mission. You will work with the founders and the Fundraising Manager to execute our advocacy and fundraising efforts.
Broad areas of responsibility:
1. Designing and managing Alohomora’s Communication strategy
a. Plan and articulate overall communication strategy and yearly goals with the organization’s leadership in consultation with our advisors and communications experts
2. Communication Management
a. Capture and share compelling stories of change and voices from our key stakeholders on various platforms including social media, website etc. This can be done through coordinating with program staff, direct interactions and/or observing and organizing events. Share 5-7 stories per month on social media channels like LinkedIn and Instagram
b. Design quarterly newsletters and share with our community of donors, mentors, panelists etc to keep them updated about our progress
c. Support founders in developing communication materials to donors like pitches, concept notes, grant proposals, one pager etc.
d. Conceptualize and organize 1 event per quarter to build thought leadership and influence key stakeholders like educators, parents and donors
e. Keep our social media – primarily Instagram, LinkedIn, and Twitter – active with regular posts and shares. Create and share photo series, infographics, short videos, etc. about our work
f. Bring visibility to individual team member’s contributions. Eg. Starting a blog by our team members to capture our experiences and nuances of program design & execution
g. Stay updated with events and panels in the development sector where Alohomora can meaningfully participate
3. Internal communication and knowledge management
a. Maintain a systematic repository of videos and other digital content for dissemination to various stakeholders and 1 million students over next few years
b. Work with team members to record monthly progress and goal achievement
c. Support founders in keeping all team members updated about our progress at an org level and aligned with our mission
d. Support team in designing outreach/program materials as per their need
e. Collaborate with fundraising manager to design material and run campaigns

4. Manager – Organisational Development
Alohomora Education Foundation has started on an ambitious journey to mainstream the need and process of career exploration for young people. We are building the ecosystem for every child to pursue their career of choice and will be reaching 65k+ students this year via our various programs. We are a team of 23 passionate individuals with diverse skills and experiences and will be growing at a fast pace over the next two years. The person in this role will be the backbone ensuring our organisational communication, processes, and
people are ready for rapid scaling.
About us: Alohomora Education Foundation has made it its mission to enable young people from underserved communities to make interest and strength aligned career choices. Our flagship career exploration framework – CareerShala – is integrated across 3 intervention models, working directly with students as well as systemic players such as teachers and state/ district education departments..
1. CareerShala Learning Lab: We train and manage youth leaders from underserved communities to facilitate CareerShala with school students via partnerships with NGOs, government schools, and after school centres. We work with ~500 students every year and have a dedicated alumni support team to connect students to post-school opportunities.
2. Desh Ke Mentor: We are leading program design and implementation of the new Delhi government initiative called Desh ke Mentor – a large scale volunteer mentoring program for young professionals to mentor 9-12th grade students from underserved communities enrolled in government schools across Delhi. This program aims to mobilize 50k+ mentors impacting 3L+ students.
3. Pratibha Manthan: Our latest partnership is with the District Education Department of Jhajjar, Haryana where we are building the capacity of teachers across 177 schools to conduct a career exploration curriculum for all 10-12th grade students. This program will reach 13000 students this year.
The role: Alohomora aims to be a high performing organisation characterised by a strong organisational culture, clearly defined strategies for the team’s development, and structured processes for individual, team and organisation-wide strategic and operational growth. We have grown from a small team of 5 to 25+ people in full time, part time and remote roles within the last 3 years. In this role, you will be working closely with the founders to strengthen our people’s policies and processes, and manage the organisation’s branding and communications to set us up for rapid growth. You will have a Communications Manager/Associate report to you.

Broad areas of responsibility:
1. Creating OD&L strategy
a. In consultation with the founders, our advisors and external experts (if needed), create a holistic long term organisational development strategy tailored to Alohomora’s needs
b. Develop (or redesign) and implement necessary policies such as POSH, compensation and reimbursement policy, EPF, norms for field roles and remote roles, etc.
c. Create a people strategy including org structure, expected competencies of team members and positions
2. Talent management
a. Devise a structured recurring internship and volunteering program for short-term associations with students/volunteers
b. Manage end-to-end hiring with the founders – drafting JDs, outreach in relevant networks and platforms, sorting applications and interviews, onboarding and orientation of new team members
c. Support in team reviews, feedback and performance evaluations
d. Identify opportunities for learning and development aligning with the roles and responsibilities of team members
3. Communications
a. Identify and track organisational outreach channels and networks Alohomora can be a part of, for greatest visibility and industry presence
4. Building org culture
a. Maintain a team engagements calendar that nurtures a mission driven culture, enables purposeful conversations, and fosters intra-team exchange of ideas and support
b. Organise and facilitate team events (Teachers’ Day, Children’s Day, etc.)
c. Facilitate internal team communication in line with overall culture
5. Administrative support and management
a. Work with our admin staff to track and manage team activity (such as leaves, reimbursements) on Keka (our HR management software) and maintaining assets (laptops, phones etc)
b. Support with ensuring team experience in the office space is joyful, healthy and productive
b. Manage external communications and networking
c. Ensure Alohomora’s social media is demonstrating thought leadership and generating interest for our work to enable strong talent pipeline, fundraising and partnerships
Note: This is a new position at Alohomora – we will welcome your inputs on how to enhance the above roles and responsibilities aligning with your experience and interests.
Compensation: Rs 5.5-9 L per annum, commensurate with skill and experience. We are happy to modify the responsibilities to suit a manager or a Sr. manager level.
Location: Delhi. This role would require presence in Alohomora office 3-4 times a week.
Preferred education and experience
1. Graduate/post graduate in any stream, preferably specialising in human resources, org development, business management, talent management, social sciences
2. 2-6 years of work experience in relevant fields. Prior experience in HR, business development, talent management, organisational development is an added bonus.
3. We would be happy to consider anyone looking to get back to work after a mid-career break.
