LiFE Global Call for Ideas & Papers

NITI Aayog is the premier policy think tank of the Government of India, providing directional and policy inputs.
NITI Aayog has launched a Global Call for Ideas for innovative ideas on tackling the climate crisis. The focus is on behaviour change solutions for individuals, households, or communities. This is a great opportunity for young scholars and public policy professionals to test original policy ideas and engage with global climate leaders.
LiFE Global Call for Ideas & Papers
In this context, NITI Aayog (Behavioural Insights Unit) and the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change (MOEFCC), in partnership with the United Nations, World Resources Institute, Centre for Social and Behaviour Change (CSBC) and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF), are inviting ideas from across the world for one of the following, or related, areas:
- Behaviour-change solutions aimed at individuals, households and communities to drive climate-friendly behaviours in sectors, including:
- Water
- Transport
- Food
- Electricity
- Waste Management
- Recycle
- Reuse
- Innovative solutions that promote wider adoption of traditional, climate-friendly practices and/or create livelihood options for communities that may lose their jobs with a shift towards climate-friendly production.
- International, national and/or local best practices that can be feasibly scaled-up for driving behaviour change related to climate action.
Authors of the accepted ideas will be invited to present their work during an international conference in India (the details of the conference will be announced at a later stage).
Participants are strongly encouraged to submit empirically informed and measurable ideas that can offer implementable solutions while having the potential to be published in reputed academic journals.
What is the LiFE Global call for Ideas & Papers?
- A global movement inviting innovative solutions to promote the adoption of sustainable lifestyles by individuals and communities.
Who can submit ideas?
- Participants from public, academic and private institutions may submit ideas as individual authors or in teams of 3 or fewer, including cross-institutional collaborations.
How do I submit my idea?
- You can submit your ideas on this form, which should take 10 minutes to complete. At this stage, we only require an idea description and team details. If your idea is shortlisted, you will be required to share additional implementation details.
