About the Migrants Resilience Collaborative (MRC): MRC is a grassroots-led multi-stakeholder collaborative of nonprofit, philanthropic, and private sector actors focused on ensuring dignity, safety, security, and mobility for vulnerable migrant families across India. The Collaborative will be India’s largest grassroots-led collaborative, and largest non-governmental initiative dedicated to the migrant workers and their families. We will support 10 million workers and their families in 100 districts and cities (across source and destination) over the next 5 years with the following outcomes:
1. Delivering social security entitlements
2. Providing access to responsible and ethical recruitment
3. Strengthening tracking, worker protections, welfare, and redressal
About the position and team: The Data analyst will work closely with MRC’s programs, strategy and government engagement teams. This analyst with help derive insights for three types of users 1) State governments using government and MRC data in order to improve government systems; 2) MRC programs team using MRC data in order to inform program decisions; 3) Industry partners using MRC data in order for businesses to improve workplace norms.
The ideal candidate would be someone with strong technical skills to handle large datasets. Some of our datasets have 50M+ records and most have at least 1M. This candidate should have the technical ability to modify and manage such datasets and use tools such as PowerBI for deriving insights and use R/Stata/Python for conducting data analysis. We are looking for someone with strong technical skills who can work with respective teams to understand the data analysis requirement and execute on these requirements
Expected commitment: 2 years
Base Location: Delhi preferred but open to other locations for the right candidate
Key Responsibilities:
● Lead analysis to help stakeholders with data driven decision making. Stakeholders include
○ State governments – you will use government data (50M+ records) and MRC data (2M+ records) in order to improve government systems
○ MRC programs team – you will use MRC data in order to inform program decisions
○ Industry partners – you will use MRC data in order for businesses to improve workplace norms.
● Clean, transform and manage large datasets including the ability to deal with both SQL and noSQL databases
● Design conceptual and logical data models and flowcharts.
● Build insightful reports and dashboards on tools like PowerBI
● Conduct statistical analysis on tools like R/Stata/Python
● Contribute to organizational development

Qualifications and experience:
● Minimum 3 years of experience working on data analysis
● Experience working with large datasets (at least 1M records)
● Strong knowledge of SQL
● Minimum 1 year experience developing reports/dashboards in PowerBI, Tableau or other similar tools
● Familiarity with statistical analysis tools such as R, Stata, Python or similar tools
● Demonstrated passion and commitment to working in the social sector
● Highly self-motivated and willing to proactively take on leadership roles
● Experience working large government datasets is a plus
