What this job involves:

Leading Energy & Sustainability services

  • Collaborate effectively with other JLL service lines on the account (Space Planning, Finance, EHS, Technical Services, FM Operations and Procurement) to deliver an integrated energy and sustainability program to the client.
  • Maintain a strong collaborative relationship and appropriate governance structure to engage with key stakeholders (Workplace Sustainability & Carbon Management, Projects, Transactions, Landlords) to align on objectives and key results (OKRs), communication and delivery.
  • Delivering and overseeing accurate and timely critical reporting, including internal, corporate and legislative reporting requirements.
  • Delivering and overseeing other initiatives associated with sustainability programs, such as green clauses and digital building clauses, technical due diligence, TRUE Zero Waste and Water Stewardship program, and Carbon Free Energy program.
  • Delivering low cost / no cost projects across the portfolio with sound financial engineering evaluation.
  • Coordinating effectively with the client to secure funding and approvals for projects, and liaise with project managers, designers and consultants to ensure works are delivered to a high standard, and validate the anticipated savings.
  • Effectively tracking and communicating success stories to ensure a high level of awareness and engagement is achieved with regard to the overall energy and sustainability program.
  • Demonstrating innovative thinking and proactive management in bringing new ideas and solutions to the client, and ensuring they are rolled out effectively.
  • Provide guidance on ways to enhance and expand service delivery to the client, including leveraging supply chain partners, internal collaborations and the broader Energy and Sustainability Services team, to ensure that the client is well placed for long-term growth and success in the energy and sustainability area
  • Development and implementation of a Sustainability Management Plan (SMP), including legal compliance, risk management, internal reporting of energy efficiency, water use, waste and recycling and sustainable procurement.
  • Development and delivery of training and educational materials based on JLLs best practice knowledge from around the world. The Energy & Sustainability Program Manager will be an on-call resource for stakeholders to direct questions around implementation of sustainability and environmental obligations, and instrumental in leading the local team in the committed deliverables.
  • Ensuring that all activities under our operational control are conducted and operated in accordance with relevant environmental legislation and/or guidelines. Additionally, the Energy & Sustainability Program Manager shall periodically monitor risks that may be outside of operational control to ensure that environmental risks are under adequate control.

Act as a coach and mentor

You’ll play the role of coach, motivating and developing team members through regular assessments of service delivery and always seeking to improve where possible.

Putting critical plans and reports in place

Planning is a big part of your mandate. In this role, you’ll take charge of planning and managing Energy & Sustainability initiatives budgets and deliverables. You’ll be performing regular audits with a focus on energy efficiency, cost savings, sustainability and zero waste. Your analytical skills will also come in handy, as the role requires you to record and report data accurately.

Sound like you? To apply you’ll need to be:

  • Experienced in Energy & Sustainability
  • For this role, you’ll need a minimum of 10  years experience  in Energy & Sustainability, ,technical services delivery in a corporate real estate environment.
  • A degree or a professional qualification in Engineering / Technical Services or energy related higher education would be an advantage.
  • Certification in Sustainability such as LEED, WELL will be an added advantage
  • Experience in digital buildings including IOT based system knowledge is an added advantage.
  • Experience in managing minor projects will be an added advantage.
  • Thorough understanding of building services design is an added advantage.

An eye for detail

Do you have an eye for detail? Attention to detail combined with high level analytical skills are vital for success in this role, you’ll analyse qualitative and quantitative information and translate this into strategic deliverables. Good communication skills as you will be interacting with regional level stakeholders. As you will be conversing with other countries in English, there is a requirement for you to be proficient in the English language.

We operate in a fast paced, high volume environment and you’ll need to keep up to speed. To do so you’ll have great time management and organisational skills, be good at meeting deadlines and be able to adapt to changing requirements.
